The 2009 Deer hunting season has since passed and it was a really tough one. There were more wolves spotted by our hunters than there were “Shooter Bucks”. The weather also played a roll in the deer hunt as well, with temperature well above normal for October and into November. We had one week where the temperatures dropped to “normal” and we had a bit of snow for ground cover and that seemed to be the best week we had for deer movement. They all seemed to be moving mostly at night.
There are supposed changes in the deer hunt for next season with regards to the non-resident hunt, but we’ll have to wait and see what the MNR and the “Deer Comittee” have in mind.
We’ll keep you posted whne we hear what is going on.
