It seems the smallmouth bass have finished spawning at most of our outpost lakes. Lakes are slowly warming up. Walleye have been reasonably active during later evenings and early mornings when its not so hot and still. Northern pike are really active and are biting on pretty much anything you can throw at them. Trout are reasonably deep (about 40 feet of water). Walleyes are being caught with mostly spinner baits(chartreuse or hot pink) and a sinker to keep lures at bottom of lake. minnows are working well for this time of year but soon should be able to switch to leeches or worms as water will be warm enough for them to work well.
